Civics and Citizenship  Celebrations and Commemorations Emails

This year at school Kenny has been elected to the SRC - that's the Student Representative Council. The school Principal has asked Kenny to find out what students think about celebrating religious festivals or special days at school. Can you help him?

Dear Readers, At my school we have children from many different religions. Most of the children are Christians but many are Muslims, Jews and Hindus. There are some children who don't believe or belong to any religion. We have public holidays in Australia only for Christian religious festivals like Christmas and Easter.  In class we often talk about and do activities for Christmas and Easter, but not for the celebrations of the other religions.  Do you think that it is OK?
